Q. How do I purchase a piece from 'Collections'?

A. Email sales@makerseye.co.uk or call 0117 259 1233.  Please give us a brief description of the piece you wish to purchase and the reference number shown in 'Collections' under 'Description'. Remember to give us your contact details.

Q. How do I pay for my purchase?

A. You can pay by bank transfer, debit card (No charges apply), or by cheque made out to Makers’ Eye and posted  to: Makers' Eye,  3/Halebrose Mansion, 125 Lichfield Road, Sutton Coldfield, B74 2RX.  Please allow ten days for your cheque to clear. All items must be paid for in full, prior to delivery, and are subject to the guarantees offered by Makers’ Eye.

Q. I live in the UK. Does the purchase price include VAT and will I receive a VAT receipt?

A. If your selected piece is marked as “VAT not applicable” then no VAT has been added to, nor included in, the selling price. If your selected piece is marked “VAT inclusive” then VAT is included in the selling price and you will receive a VAT receipt.

Q. I live in the EU (but not in the UK).  Does the purchase price include VAT and will I receive a VAT receipt?

A.If your selected piece is marked 'VAT not applicable' then no VAT has been added to nor included in the selling price. If your invoice is marked 'VAT inclusive' you will be charged VAT and receive a VAT invoice unless you are VAT registered and supply us with a valid VAT registration number in which case no VAT will be charged.

Q. I live outside the EU, do I pay VAT on my purchase?

A. If your selected piece is marked as 'VAT not applicable' then no VAT has been added to, nor included in, the selling price. If your selected piece is marked 'VAT inclusive' the VAT component  will be deducted from the selling price. However, you will be required to supply us with proof of export.

Q. Can I view the piece that I would like to purchase, before making a decision?

A. Yes. The location of every piece is shown on the 'Collections' page under 'Details'. Please phone or email us to say that you would like to view the piece before deciding to purchase and we will reserve it for you for up to seven days. We will ensure that the maker or gallery reserving the piece calls you to arrange a convenient time for a viewing. If  the sale has not been agreed within seven days from the date of your enquiry, then we reserve the right to re-offer it for sale.

Q. Is there a delivery charge?

A. Not always, though where there is we will happily quote you. Alternatively we can make arrangements for you to collect. 

Q. How will the delivery be arranged and who will deliver it?

A. Makers' Eye will liaise with you to arrange delivery times. Your piece will either be delivered by the maker or by a specialist delivery company.

Q. If I purchase a piece that is to be remade, how long will I have to wait?

A. Tell us which piece you are interested in and we will give you an estimated delivery time.

Q. If I purchase a piece that is to be remade, do I have to pay the full price at the time of ordering?

A. No. You will have to pay 40% of the selling price as a deposit. This deposit is non-refundable after seven days have elapsed from the date of your order.

Q. If I purchase a piece that is to be remade, can I ask for alterations to the specification?

A. Yes you can.  However, any changes to the specification may affect the price.  If so, you will be informed prior to placing your order.

Q. What happens if my purchase is damaged when it arrives?

A. We take full responsibility for ensuring that the piece that you have purchased arrives in perfect condition.

Q. What happens if I don’t like the piece that I have ordered?

A. If the piece has been purchased from 'Collections' and has not been remade to order, then you may cancel the order by notifying us by email or in writing, either within 7 days of placing the order or within 7 days of receiving the ordered item(s). We will then accept it back. The purchaser will be responsible for ensuring that all returned items are properly packed and for all packing and shipping costs incurred in returning any items, which must reach us in their original condition. Refunds will be processed within 30 days of the day on which you gave us notice of cancellation. If payment was made by debit or credit card, refunds will be made to the same card used to pay for your purchase.

Q. Can I return a piece that has been made to order?

A. Any piece that has been remade to your order that meets the agreed specification cannot be returned.

Q. Do Makers' Eye offer a quality guarantee?

A. We guarantee that all pieces of furniture supplied through 'Collections' will be compliant with the full specification as ordered and that they will be fit for purpose.

Q. Will I be given advice on looking after my purchase?

A. Yes. If requested, we will offer you advice on your individual purchase.

Q. If I decide to commission a piece directly from a member of Makers' Eye, do the above terms and conditions apply?  

A. No. You will not benefit from the Makers' Eye terms and conditions and guarantees. You will need to refer to each individual maker’s terms and conditions.
