We have made two of these, one for a client’s wife – a surprise fortieth birthday present and the second as a jigsaw table for our clients’ daughter. Both were made out of Brown Oak with Ebony detailing. The emphasis here is on simple, delicate and clean lines. The timber itself is gorgeous and figured; one of James’s mantras is that if you can find some exquisite timber, the design can be quite clean and still achieve a stunning effect. This is a fine example! The practical and beautiful shaped balustrade around the back and the sides of the desktop finish the piece off beautifully and help stop jigsaw pieces from disappearing.
