Designed in 1990, the Cato Rocker evolved out of our desire to create a rocking chair combining sculptural beauty with supreme comfort.
To achieve these qualities, the seat and back were carefully designed to perfectly support the body, their laminated slats bringing natural spring and great strength. These in turn are supported between the arm rockers, which give poise, balance, and a gentle rocking action.
Thus the chair is light, comfortable yet strong and, with no need for upholstery, the beauty of the form remains uncompromised.
Now an acknowledged and award-winning design classic, each Cato Rocker is individually handmade in beech with maple veneers, or in oak. All timbers are selected from sustainably managed forests, their colour and grain selected to complement the rocking chair's sensuous lines.
A signed and numbered certificate of authenticity is included with every rocker, proof that you have invested in an original and unique piece, and one that we believe to be the best handmade rocker in the world.
