The Vortex Series 111 jewellery box in highly figured american black walnut burr inlaid with overlapping, intersecting curves of masur birch and amboyna burr. The interior is inlaid with masur birch and mahogany, with lift out trays from black walnut, inlaid with rich, green velvet and it is fitted with the highest quality, polished nickel quadrant hinges.
We should note that due to the complex nature of the inlay, all of which is hand cut, each version of this box is unique, although the proportions and principle of the pattern remain constants in the design.
