'Wings ' was designed for a client who needed to store a large number of bottles together with facilities for mixing drinks. The two wings open out to the sides giving easy access. The serving shelf incorporates a tray for carrying glasses.
The tree for making Wings was selected and sawn specifically to show the rippled grain to best advantage whilst achieving optimum stability. The shelves are supported off the rear spine from which the doors are hinged. The carving of the doors in the outer and inner sides creates light and shade and provides the means of opening.
This is indicative of an individual commission designed to meet very specific requirements.
