Frankie Valet sets out to re-imagine a historical piece of furniture for 21st century living, whilst showcasing sublime craftsmanship and quality of materials.
Traditionally, the valet was a sartorial essential in 19th century dressing rooms or bedrooms to hold the day’s clothing and accessories. Frankie Valet contemporises this classic piece by adding functionality via a full-length mirror, mounted on low-rise castors which can be spun around to screen off the day’s attire.
Frankie is handcrafted in solid American black walnut with strong accents in prehistoric English bog oak (carbon dated to 3,300 BC), and complementary black suede. It features both a framed full-length mirror and face mirror, whose angle is adjustable.
In addition there is a hanging rail with a discreet dovetailed extending hook, hexagonal pegs, a shoe stand and a leather-lined accessories drawer with poche-vide which is opened with a secret, concealed button incorporating a handmade wood-hinge and spring mechanism, as used in fine Victorian treasure chests.
Frankie is finished with a highly protective hard-wax oil which brings out the tonal qualities of the walnut and gives a satin-smooth feel and lustre.
This piece is inlaid with a gold maker's mark and a numbered edition disc – only 25 will ever be made.
Bespoke options:
- Both the full-length and face mirrors can be in silver mirror rather than bronze
- The leather for the drawer interior and poche-vide can be selected from a wide range of colours
