The Sentinels are a pair of decorative screens or room dividers, handcrafted in solid sustainable American black walnut and glazed with panes of tinted, mirrored and aluminium-faced acrylic.
Being individual freestanding screens affords them greater versatility than the traditional hinged folding screen, without compromising on their functionality. Glamorous, stylish and contemporary, the screens are as much a striking statement piece of artwork as they are practical pieces of furniture.
Strategically positioned, The Sentinels can be effectively used to zone off an area of a room or simply to add light, colour and interest to a living space. They can create a sense of intimacy and privacy, for example to a seating area, without cutting it off from the wider room. Likewise, they can create a natural and decorative divide within a large open-plan space.
As part of our mission to ensure great longevity in our furniture, the construction of the Sentinels is such that if ever a pane becomes damaged, it can be carefully replaced without having to break apart the timber frames.
The Sentinels are finished in a highly protective hard-wax oil which brings out the tonal qualities of the walnut set against the contrasting coloured panes and gives a satin-smooth feel and lustre.
The Sentinels are handmade in a limited edition of 25, and inlaid with a gold maker's mark and a numbered edition disc.

- The Sentinels are also available in solid European oak, and larger in dimension (660 x 1950 x 320mm)
- They can be glazed in a variety of different materials including coloured or fused glass, polished or brushed metals or, for something extra-special, verre eglomisé (gold, platinum and other precious metal leaf on glass).
