Handcrafted from scores of individually prepared strips of solid sustainable hardwoods, this is a striking wall-hanging mirror with reversible mirror glass - bronze mirror on one side and silver mirror on the other, backed with soft Italian lamb nappa.
In addition to the American Walnut, European Walnut, European Beech and English steamed Pear wood used in the piece, it also features strips of ancient (5,300 year old) English Bog Oak* with detailing in mirrored copper.
Named The Sartorialist in homage to world renowned photographer and champion of all things stylish Scott Schuman, the mirror wears its own perfectly tailored and stylish little pin-striped wooden suit which will reflect the style right back at you!
Each piece is numbered and branded with a gold maker's mark – only 25 will be produced in total.
* This pre-historic wood has been preserved for more than five millennia in bogland in The Fens (Eastern England) and was dug out just two years ago and very slowly drained and kiln dried. Its sumptuous bitter-chocolate brown-black colour is the result of the wood’s natura tannins reacting with the acids in the peat.
Bespoke options include:
- By virtue of the fact that offcuts are used, every mirror is totally unique
- Special commissions are possible for alternative sizes and type of metal inlay.
