Made from solid ebony and pearwood these two tall side tables were design for a private client specifically to accommodate two large beaten metal lamps. The top component is a pear wood with ebony inlay, and a profoundly effective hand rendered planishing detail,
The inspiration came from the way water falls when poured from a jug, much as it would be from the vase like metal lamp stands, as a steady stream that suddenly breaks up in a motion. This motif was reserved for only one leg on each stand unifying the set while holding back from overuse. A reference to the lip of the jug is made in the corner of each table top.
