The Lyrical Lectern
This elegant and theatrical lectern was commissioned by the governors of the Yehudi Menuhin school as a leaving gift to the headmaster Nicolas Chisholm OBE of 25 years dedicated service.
It was presented to him at a leaving concert at their amazing music hall in front of 300 prestigious guests and a full orchestra ,to much applause.
The Tri-form curved uplifting legs support ,via a turned-wooden Ebony and Satinwood friction block and friction locking handle ,a double liar tilting head platform with two finely turned and-engineered solid Spring loaded ebony page supporters.
It was awarded a prestigious Bespoke Guild Mark from the Worshipful Company of Furniture Makers,for its excellence in design and precision cabinetmaking.
John Bly furniture expert and author from the antiques Roadshow when Hosting one of my exhibitions stated it was his favourite ever Lectern and loved the theatrical movement and energy in it,as well as its superb quality and attention to detail.
Over three months work is required to handmake this stunning piece.
Materials: English Oak, ebony and finest satinwood veneers.
