This client from Hong Kong is an avid collector of WWII British fighter pilot maps, the English Walnut cabinet (due to space restrictions) had to be wall hung and had to have the ability to display the maps once it was opened. Two traditionally made drawers were also requested so the client could store a pad and pencil, as well as the magnetic knobs used to hold the map in place. English walnut was sourced locally, which turned out to be extradionary in its appearance, this timber was split and opened up like a book, this is called book matching, this creates two near identical panels on the door.
