A wonderful commission for a big and beautiful dining table that extends twice, from a 6 to 8 to 10 seater with the extension leaves being stored below the top surface.
The flavour of this piece was inspired by Art Deco forms, with solid and veneers of walnut being selected to lend a rich, sophisticated feel. Classic cross banding to the top surface is picked out with a fine black inlay.
10 chairs were commissioned too, with the end chairs being subtley greater in measurements, a nod to the classic carver chair.
Made in matching solid walnut they are traditionally upholstered for supreme comfort, with a covering of dove grey faux suede to the seat pad and both faces of the back.
Having seen this beautiful result our client then ordered a pair of complementary sideboards with drawers divided for cutlery, lined in the same dove grey faux suede. Below these two doors open to reveal capacious storage for glass and crockery.
A distinctive feature of this design is the Deco inspired raised top surface and handle detail, identified in black laquer to complement the piano sited at the opposite end of the room.
