The Toro dining chair was inspired from the stylised animal forms in the pre-historic cave paintings. This chair captures the dynamic of a bulls’ head by using cast aluminium in contrast with the timber. The cast aluminium demonstrates two ‘energies,’ the horns and the front clawing hoof. By using skin or leather on the chair, the animal energy is emphasised. This chair is very much about avoiding the weaknesses of the rectangle/square geometry in the traditional Western chair. The Toro successfully uses a triangular structure to create a rigid but dynamic form. Beautifully comfortable it sits at ease in any interior.
The timber for the legs and the leather colour can be chosen to suit the customer’s choice.
